Eternal Rogue
A Dungeon That Remembers Every Choice You Make
Most roguelikes offer a fresh start with each run, but the frustration of losing hard-earned progress can break immersion. Eternal Rogue introduces a persistent legacy system, where every failed expedition leaves a permanent mark on the dungeon itself, transforming total loss into strategic, long-term world-building.
Core Loop of Legacy and Progression
Eternal Rogue is built on a foundation of reactive, procedurally generated dungeons. Your actions directly influence future runs. If you fall to a trap, that corridor might be permanently damaged or marked with a warning for your next character. Discovering a hidden shrine could unlock a new starting buff for all subsequent heroes. The game merges the tense, run-based combat of traditional roguelikes with a meta-progression system that affects the environment, not just your character sheet. You choose from a roster of distinct classes like the shadow-walking Stalker or the rune-forging Artificer, each with skill trees that allow for deep, custom builds. The core gameplay loop involves delving, gathering resources to upgrade your central sanctuary, and inevitably falling, only to return stronger and to a world that has been subtly altered by your previous presence.
